Road Scholar, a non-profit provider of educational travel programs for adults, aimed to drive enrollment via signup of a direct mail offer to receive their course catalog.

Alliant partnered with Road Scholar to build two custom models – a response and lookalike model both designed to improve response rates for this effort. The Alliant Data Science team effectively utilized Road Scholar participant records spanning two years, along with Alliant’s transactional, demographic and lifestyle data to build models that predict optimal responders.

The Alliant custom response model ranked as the #1 model solution for overall response rate out of 28 other vendors. Response Rate was 118% higher than the vendor average. Cost Per Acquisition was 136% less than the campaign average.

Response rate % is based on a modeled audience segment’s ratio of new adds or signup of the mailing vs. prospect mailing quantity
