Overview

Alliant is seeking Business Technology Support technician to join its Infrastructure & Security team. This position will oversee Alliant’s suite of commercial off-the-shelf business productivity and production support software. The position duties encompass installation, configuration, administration, and this person must be dedicated to user support. The successful applicant will also be responsible for configuration and troubleshooting of all business support hardware and related systems, including phones, printers and peripheral equipment. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrates an extensive interest in business productivity and process support applications.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Configure, maintain and support all windows-based applications and hardware in a 50+ person user environment, from servers to desktop
  • Provide prompt front-line support for internal business, technical and production users, including after-hours on-call support as needed
  • Resolve all application issues quickly for on premise and cloud-based applications with assistance from support providers, third party vendors, and/or internal technical resources
  • Ensure up-time and 100% security of all user systems, implement approved changes and system enhancements, and execute correction procedures for assigned applications
  • Provide root cause analysis support for application error investigations; conduct analysis and resolution of end-user break/fix occurrences
  • Work closely with data architects, developers, technical support staff and business users to understand workflow and processes, support research into solutions for defined business requirements as requested
  • Maintain service logs as required and suggest improvements for standard operating procedures
  • Maintain a formal inventory process of all IT assets and supplies; be knowledgeable on how to support all IT inventory

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Must love technology and enjoy helping others use it effectively
  • Must have experience working with Microsoft web-based technologies
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency as a user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and must be capable of supporting user questions
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in automating processes with scripts (PowerShell, WSH, batch files etc.)
  • Must be a critical thinker and problem-solver capable of strict attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure while exhibiting a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Certification in Microsoft Windows 10 and back office applications a plus
  • Experience with VOIP based phone system a plus
  • Experience with SQL and NOSQL databases a plus
  • Experience in database marketing or related coursework a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders and business partners
