Alliant is seeking a Systems Programmer to join its Database Services team. This position is responsible for partnering with the Client Services and Account Management teams to ensure the timely and accurate execution and QA of outbound production delivery services. The ideal candidate will be organized and have the ability to think analytically. Principal Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, execute, traffic, and QA database production jobs with Client Services team
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule
  • Write custom code with ETL tools to support client projects
  • Follow best practices for QA and release management
  • Liaise with Data Governance, Development, Data Science and Account Management teams to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Manage Coop member databases
  • Manage and optimize the team’s workflow processes
  • Map and load incoming data files to Alliant standard inputs
  • Participate in developing KPIs for QA and performance tracking
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify process bottlenecks
  • Build, monitor, document and optimize production processes
  • Perform ad hoc project programming and scripting automations

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required
  • Experience in database operations, Direct or Digital Marketing, or related coursework, preferred
  • Must be a critical thinker, capable of strict attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure while exhibiting a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal skills, be a self-starter, and be able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be a flexible multi-tasker with the ability to adjust priorities to respond to customer needs
  • Superior organization, documentation, and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in: Linux scripting, data management practices, database files and record layouts, writing SQL queries, job scheduling tools (e.g. ActiveBatch), FTP data transfer methods (e.g. sFTP, Filezilla, ws-ftp, etc.), SAS and SQL databases, graphical ETL development tools
  • Must be team-oriented and committed to having a good time while doing a great job
