Overview

Alliant is seeking an ETL Developer to join its Data Intake team. Alliant operates on the forward edge of innovation in data-driven marketing, helping brands target consumers effectively in digital and traditional advertising channels. The ETL Developer position will be responsible for designing, building, validating and maintaining databases and integrating these databases into Hadoop. The ideal candidate for this position will be detailed-oriented, familiar with data profiling, data hygiene and ETL processes and enjoy working with a highly energized and innovative team.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement well-structured computer programs following best practices that will scale and be easy to maintain based upon defined requirements and specifications
  • Develop transformation logic, interfaces and QA reports as need to meet project requirements
  • Provide guidance for technical architecture, data modeling and ETL standards
  • Communicate effectively with both technical, marketing and sales professionals using appropriately focused reporting to illustrate data discussion points.
  • Respond to the expressed needs of internal and external customers and end-users with innovative and effective solutions
  • Work with team members to prioritize tasks and ensure that assigned projects are completed on schedule; organize, coordinate and implement tasks with strong attention to detail

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in Data Analyst roles within an analytics environment, predictive modeling for sales, marketing, fraud prevention, or related business needs
  • Experience using ETL tools to manipulate and integrate incoming data from a number of sources
  • Working knowledge and experience in writing simple to moderately complex SQL queries.
  • Ability to retrieve and manipulate data from large databases and create reporting metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to identify data quality issues and recommend the best course of action to address them
  • Must be a critical thinker and problem-solver capable of strict attention to detail; must have superior organization and documentation skills and the ability to work well under pressure while exhibiting a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in: Hadoop, address standardization tools, analytical tools and their usage
  • Experience in data preparation for direct or digital marketing, or related coursework, a plus
  • Good interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders and business partners
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Motivated self-starter, able to work independently or as part of a team
