This is a high-visibility position within a respected marketing solutions provider delivering data-driven strategic services to multi-channel marketers. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in the digital marketing and targeting ecosystem, with strong business development skills and a proven track record in exceeding sales quota. As a senior-level revenue leader, you will be comfortable with strategy development and capable of building a high-performing sales and service team.

The VP of Digital Platform Sales will report to Alliant’s SVP of Sales and Client Engagement. This position is based in our Northern Westchester County, NY office. Some telecommuting may be possible.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Oversee sales of all digital audiences through distribution partners on demand-side and supply-side platforms, creating demand with advertisers, agencies, media companies, and content owners operating across digital, social, video, and mobile channels
  • Partner with internal teams to identify and communicate value propositions for a growing roster of 800+ syndicated audiences and identify opportunities for increased sell-through
  • Identify, define and close opportunities to develop custom audiences as may be required by key accounts
  • Set sales goals, develop forecasts, maintain standard pipeline, track opportunities, manage the sales fulfillment process and report on progress to executive management
  • Partner with marketing team to research, create and manage prospect funnel
  • Prepare and communicate solution overviews, pricing, proposals, presentations, contracts; negotiate the terms and conditions of the sale, and close the business
  • Prepare annual budgets, provide ongoing results analysis and forecasting; prepare “Lessons Learned” analysis on business opportunities gained and lost
  • Partner with senior management to design and fulfill a digital sales team development strategy
  • Maintain CRM management system with history of contracts, documents, events, transactions, and notes for complete customer and account profiles

Key Skills and Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, or business field; MBA or equivalent preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, direct marketing, and/or related disciplines
  • Ability to conquest, develop and expand client relationships; proven success in achieving sales quotas and profitable revenue growth year-over-year
  • Demonstrated expertise and understanding of current and evolving digital audiences and data management/exchange environments
  • Must have an established network of trusted relationships with digital agency media organizations
  • Sales or product management experience within a publisher-side digital data provider a big plus
  • Must be proficient in database marketing, web analytics, performance digital marketing analytics, customer segmentation, and testing/optimization techniques
  • Emotional maturity, with an analytically-driven approach to management and decision-making
  • Outstanding business writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, customer service and presentation skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using a CRM database or similar software applications
  • Must have the ability to be on the road: Frequent travel to customer sites and/or trade shows required
  • Must be flexible, team-oriented and committed to having a good time while doing a great job
