Overview:

The Director of Sales — New Markets will be a key contributor to Alliant’s continued growth. This high-visibility position requires the successful candidate to initiate and develop strategic relationships with brand marketers, marketing organizations, agencies, DSPs, DMPs, ad exchanges/networks and social media platforms to promote Alliant solutions. This senior level sales position requires an experienced professional capable of developing a holistic view of the customer, generating new business and managing and/or expanding buyer relationships in connection with direct sales to end-users.  This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Sales & Client Engagement and may manage resources related to assigned account(s).

 

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, forecast and build strategies required to achieve revenue growth in key markets; manage complete sales cycle process from prospect identification and qualification to close and delivery.
  • Actively contribute to establishing budgets, sales pipeline, reporting and forecasting on a quarterly and fiscal year basis.
  • Use knowledge of direct response and digital marketing techniques to identify, develop and present compelling business cases and strategies for modeling and segmentation solutions, custom audiences, data management and lead/order optimization services.
  • Recommend pricing and negotiation strategies to close new and renew existing services; propose modifications to products and services based on feedback.
  • Generate audience recurring revenue through indirect and direct sales from media platforms and strategic data partnerships
  • Develop and deliver integrated and comprehensive annual business plans across products to generate new revenue, and proactively provide quarterly performance updates.
  • Provide voice of the customer (VOC) input on new product development collaborate with internal Analytics, Production and Development teams as necessary.
  • Keep current with marketing and product trends, industry developments, and competitive knowledge.
  • Update CRM management information daily and document sales activity, transactions, account, client information and revenue opportunities as required.
  • Generate and maintain a sales pipeline worth 150% of budgeted revenue targets.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Key Skills and Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, or business field with at least eight (8) years’ experience within a business-to-business (B2B) sales or direct marketing organization, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years’ progressive experience in direct sales and sales management with a proven track record in developing email and digital/social advertising strategies and sales
  • Strong understanding of multi-channel direct response marketing, including acquisition and customer file marketing tactics; experience in creating and analyzing marketing P&L statements.
  • Full understanding of digital program measurement metrics, reporting and P&L standards.
  • Experience and relevant contacts within digital marketing and/or consumer product marketing organizations a plus.
  • Must demonstrate solid listening skills and a consultative sales approach, with proven ability to identify and build relationships with C-Level executives and key decision makers.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets, conquesting business, selling complex solutions to expand service, and is proficient at solutions selling techniques based upon a consultative, value-driven sales methodology.
  • An analytic mind-set and a passion for detail and data-driven marketing innovation
  • Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, attend to detail and generate results in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding writing and presentation skills, with an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using a database or software applications is desired.
  • Position require external client interaction. Must have the ability to accommodate travel to client sites and industry events.
  • Must be flexible, detailed, team-oriented and committed to having a good time while doing a great job.
