Overview:

Alliant is seeking a skilled business writer with a deep understanding of data-driven marketing strategies to join our rapidly growing marketing services company. As Content & Proposal Development Specialist, you will work closely with internal teams to produce compelling proposals, presentations and marketing content to fuel the company’s new business and account expansion initiatives. Candidates will be required to provide a portfolio of high quality, relevant work.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Write Content for Business-to-Business Marketing Materials
  • Participate in the development of content marketing strategies by contributing ideas for interesting topics to cover
  • Contribute to the creation of editorial calendars and adhere to content deadlines
  • Thoroughly research topics and conduct internal and external interviews with subject matter experts
  • Develop finished copy for blog posts, case studies, whitepapers, application overviews, videos, product descriptions and web pages that position Alliant as a thought leader and effectively nurture clients and prospects
  • Develop and maintain external presentations describing benefits of Alliant services, solutions and products
  • Develop story outlines and topic treatments for assignment to internal and external writers; edit and polish submitted content for publication
  • Work closely with art directors and web developers to oversee execution of projects
  • Develop promotional copy and campaign ideas as assigned

Develop Effective Proposals for New Business & Current Client Initiatives:

  • Write accurate, persuasive and engaging proposals that clearly address client business challenge and articulate the value Alliant’s solution will provide
  • Collaborate with account and sales teams to determine objectives and outline proposal strategy
  • Manage all aspects of proposal development including scheduling, researching, writing, editing, proofreading, and ensuring compliance against project or RFP requirements
  • Interview internal subject matter experts to gather additional necessary information
  • Maintain a repository of proposal content for sales and account executives to repurpose
  • Build client-facing presentations to support proposals directly within PowerPoint
  • Partner with the design team for the development of illustrative charts and exhibits, and formatting assistance as needed
  • Deliver projects on time by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review and approval
  • Document projects and bid completion through Salesforce as necessary

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Communications or Marketing
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a mastery of English language and standard style guide usages (e.g. AP, Chicago, NYT, )
  • Experience handling RFP proposal responses under tight deadlines
  • Ability to think creatively, understand audience needs, and explain ideas in a way that will be appealing and persuasive
  • Ability to communicate advanced marketing and business concepts in concise, and easy to understand terms
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel if necessary and work after hours to meet deadlines
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be a master in usage of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Must love marketing and data!
